Product Information

What is Violet®?

Violet is a daily iodine supplement that helps alleviate the most common symptoms of cyclic mastalgia and fibrocystic breast condition (FBC), including swelling, tenderness, aches and heaviness and promotes optimal breast health.

Is it a drug?

Violet is not a drug; it is an iodine supplement and can be purchased without a prescription.

What are the key ingredients?

The two key ingredients in Violet are iodine and selenium.

What form does it come in?

Violet is available in tablet form.

What pill counts are available?

Violet is available in a 60-pill starter package.

What symptoms does it address?

Violet helps alleviate menstrual–related tenderness, aches, heaviness and swelling in the breasts.

How is it different?

Is this different from other iodine (iodide) supplements currently available?
Yes it is different. Violet is created using a novel technology that combines a formulation of two forms of iodine: iodide and iodate. This unique, non-hormonal formulation interacts with the acidic pH environment of the stomach to form molecular iodine, which is then delivered to breast tissue, resulting in a reduction of menstrual-related breast discomfort.  Until now, there has never been a supplement demonstrated to target breast tissue, making Violet the first iodine supplement to address the underlying cause of menstrual-related breast symptoms associated with fibrocystic breast condition.

Can I just adjust my diet to include more iodized salt instead?
Simply adding salt to the diet is not effective in alleviating the symptoms of fibrocystic breast condition.  Iodized table salt does not contain the correct form of iodine. Additionally, increased sodium intake contributes to high blood pressure, which can lead to heart disease, stroke, heart failure, and kidney disease. Talk to your doctor about safe levels of salt in your diet.

Can I get an effective amount of iodine from a multivitamin instead?
Violet tablets are different from other iodine supplements, including multivitamins.  Violet tablets are made with a unique formulation that blends two iodine ingredients to deliver molecular iodine.  Most multivitamins contain 225 micrograms (or less) of iodide, whereas Violet tablets contain 3000 micrograms (3 mg) of iodine per tablet.  This daily amount is effective at helping alleviate monthly breast discomfort associated with fibrocystic breast condition.

How does it work?

The ingredients in Violet combine in the stomach where it binds with other molecules in the body and targets the breast tissue via the bloodstream.

How can I tell it is working? How long before I feel relief?

Every woman’s body is different. Some women experience relief with their first menstrual cycle, however, initial symptom relief may take 60 days or longer.

How is the dosage determined?

Dosage depends on the severity of the symptoms. However, you should not exceed more than 2 pills per day.

How has this been tested?

Over one thousand women have participated in clinical trials of molecular iodine.

Will this affect my thyroid?

If you are currently under the care of a physician for a thyroid condition, you should consult with him/her prior to the use of Violet.

What if I’ve had bariatric surgery?

Bariatric surgery can affect the appropriate absorption of iodine thereby reducing the efficacy of Violet to alleviate menstrual-related breast discomfort symptoms.  You should consult with your physician to determine if Violet is right for you.

Are there any drug interactions?

Consult a physician prior to using Violet if you are using any prescription medications.

Are there any side effects?

Discontinue use and consult a physician if you experience: fatigue, palpitations, anxiety, irritability, or increased sweating, as these may be early symptoms of irregular thyroid function.  Excessive iodine intake may cause hyperthyroidism, hypothyroidism or goiter.
